Florida College is growing, and its expansion plans include an enlarged campus with new buildings, a remote parking lot, and a comprehensive campus master plan for future development. Sol Design Studio began by programming key new facilities, including a three-story Student Union with ground-floor parking and the new Riverside Amphitheater—both central elements of the Master Plan.
A new courtyard will connect the Student Union to the Riverside Amphitheater, creating a cohesive and inviting campus environment. Sol also integrated into the master campus design a new remote parking lot, a future Fine Arts building, and a commuter system linking to Florida College’s off-campus property.
The design goals for the project include incorporating architectural elements from the historic Sutton Hall into the new buildings, while also reflecting the modern educational identity that Florida College represents. This thoughtful blend of tradition and innovation has resulted in a design that gracefully unites historic charm with contemporary style.
